"OWL" miss my bird buddy

SOLD

There was a lot to take in and do for an Alla Prima. I had about 3 hours and this is what occurred.

Miniature Pears being finished

Week Two of Justin finished

reworking the owl by extending tree making the camoflage more a point

Head study of Justin (first week of two- about 3 hours work)

Finished with this painting.

Ann week 3 of 4, two photos, it looks like somewhere inbetween

Monday's finished work. 10x10" canvas cradled on board

Oil on linen panel. This is the second part of four- so she is half finished. A good calm day. No cussin

Alla Prima Monday

Oh, this one has a feel. Reminds me of "Hope" by Watts. That twisted serpentine figure blindfolded holding the lyre

11x 14" Birthday present from my friend to her husband for their country house

I have about 4 or 5 more hours on him. Then he will be ready to fly

8x8" alla prima study of Anne's head

this was a very uncomfortable pose for the model. She was quite the professional and stuck it out.

On the way home, the art supplies fell on it as I slammed on brakes. Wondered what kind of mess it made of this but it was not too badly messed up.

I am worn slap out. This one near about killed me. I complained all day, even saying " CRAP" (how nice) out loud. Oh, what a great group I paint with to tolerate me.

This is an alla prima of Anne. It is painted in oil on linen board about 11 x 14"

"Alla Prima" in Italian means "All at once" or in one shot, this was three hours of work

I NEVER do this, but I slapped this painting on the easel and corrected that silly scarf. I did NOT capture the nature of that garment and it was bugging me. Now, when I go back to paint, it will be ready.

Babette Week 3, one more day's work left to do, lots lots lots of work.

Okay, she is no longer an Alla Prima since I worked today on this

Week Two, second day's work on Babette. Two more days left.

Alla Prima Monday....8x16" oil on linen panel 3 hours work

First day's work on Babette. This will be a four week pose, once a week, on Thursdays, so stayed tuned for progress. Oil on Linen18x24"
