I took this sitting up in the back of my car after class in Atlanta. This is Beatrice day two or week two and there is one more to go.

I was able to paint a small alla prima of Chelsea's head and shoulders in the last two hours of class

this is oil on panel and I think it is 8x10"

I don't think she looks much different from last week. She is a little cleaner, tighter, and her head will get a little work next week for about an hour and then I will do another alla prima.  Oil on panel Dancer Resting

When My Own Work Pleases Me: Here it is

There was a lot to take in and do for an Alla Prima. I had about 3 hours and this is what occurred.

Alla Prima Monday

Oh, this one has a feel. Reminds me of "Hope" by Watts. That twisted serpentine figure blindfolded holding the lyre

I have about 4 or 5 more hours on him. Then he will be ready to fly

this was a very uncomfortable pose for the model. She was quite the professional and stuck it out.

On the way home, the art supplies fell on it as I slammed on brakes. Wondered what kind of mess it made of this but it was not too badly messed up.

I am worn slap out. This one near about killed me. I complained all day, even saying " CRAP" (how nice) out loud. Oh, what a great group I paint with to tolerate me.

This is an alla prima of Anne. It is painted in oil on linen board about 11 x 14"

"Alla Prima" in Italian means "All at once" or in one shot, this was three hours of work

I NEVER do this, but I slapped this painting on the easel and corrected that silly scarf. I did NOT capture the nature of that garment and it was bugging me. Now, when I go back to paint, it will be ready.

Babette Week 3, one more day's work left to do, lots lots lots of work.
