Mildred is sad but doing well. I am so glad, and knew I would be that I painted their pictures from photographs at our house Easter two years ago. I remember getting some flack from Brown about John's oxygen machine being in the picture but it was so important to me to put it in there. The preacher at his funeral talked all about that portable oxygen and what it meant to him and was a metaphor for his spirit- it enabled him to live fully for several years. It kept him on the go- so, there was my affirmation. I am so glad I painted him.
